As our company name in Dutch implies, Sunoil Biodiesel is specialized in the production of biodiesel. In addition to biodiesel, we also produce by-products such as glycerin.

Sunoil Biodiesel mainly processes used cooking oil into biofuel, also known as ‘second generation biodiesel’. By using a catalyst a chemical reaction converts the waste oils and fats into biofuel (FAME: Fatty-Acid-Methyl-Ester). Our product fully meets the EN14214 standard.
Glycerine is a by-product of biodiesel production. Glycerine is widely used for multiple purposes in different industries (pharmaceutical, food or oleochemical industry). Sunoil’s glycerin is mainly used as one of the main constituents for biogas-plants.
Used frying fat is collected throughout the Netherlands and abroad from catering establishments, large users and supermarkets. It is collected by companies that specialize in the collection of these fats and oils. These are the companies with which Sunoil Biodiesel has direct contact.
Because cooking fat mainly consists of saturated esters of fatty acids, it is very energy-rich. After filtering, the cooking fat can be used as the main ingredient for biodiesel.
Sunoil Biodiesel high blends consist partly of biodiesel and part of fossil fuels. B20 consists of 20% biodiesel and 80% fossil diesel, and this is 30/70 for B30. Most diesel vehicles are able to use these biodiesel high blends without needing any modifications.
“Our biodiesel is produced from waste streams and residual materials such as Uced Cooking Oil (UCO). As a result the CO2 emissions of our biodiesel is 90% lower compared to conventional diesel”
